This isn't really new information and definitely not "Top Secret" but it is something you probably don't know that could save you HUNDREDS of DOLLARS every year! This article below explains everything you need to know:http://www.cheapelectricscootersonline.com/save_money_dmv_secrets
But if you're like me, you want the quick version. Here it is...
The DMV regulates motor vehicles but doesn't have rules for "electric bicycles". When you purchase a scooter with pedals (even if the pedals are not installed), that goes a maximum of 20mph, you don't have to spend any money on insurance, getting a license or registering your vehicle with the DMV office. Every year you save that amount of money which can become several hundred dollars when you add it all up.
The article goes on to show how electric scooters are great for RVers to bring with them on trips rather than a car or motorcycle. It also mentions the cost savings as well as physical benefits of electric scooters for those who ride to work.

Are you trying to tell me that the picture you have up there is a scooter that doesn't have to be registered with the DMV?
That's right!
You can visit your local DMV office and they will tell you the same thing...an Electric Bicycle does not need to be registered, insured or does it require a license to ride.
If you look close, there are pedals on the scooter above. They are not required to be installed but they are available if you want to pedal power the scooter.
It's a technicality but one that you can use in your favor!
